Celia took early retirement in 2014 from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where as a member of the Senior Management Team she held institutional responsibilities including Research and Knowledge Exchange. She was awarded a Professorship in 2010 and an Honorary Doctorate of the Conservatoire in 2015.
Career experience ranges from lecturing in music at Goldsmiths, University of London to commercial software design and using digital technologies in higher education. As the first Head of Research at the Conservatoire she founded the National Centre for Research in the Performing Arts, and led the team responsible for management of research, consultancy and knowledge exchange activities.
Now working freelance, Celia’s research and consultancy interests are in performing arts education, staff and policy development, knowledge exchange and quality management. A former chair of St Andrews Voices and current chair of the Red Note Ensemble, she is delighted to have been with The Wallace Collection from its 21st century ‘re-boot’.
