The Wallace Collection was invited to perform at the 2016 National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain (sections 1-4), providing entertainment between the last performance and the announcement of the results for each of the respective sections.
It was a two-day event and so the ensemble had the opportunity to share a variety of pieces with the audiences throughout the weekend. It also enjoyed the interaction from stage as each member introduced the pieces and drew focus on the instruments and/or links between brass chamber and brass band music.
The ensemble also ran a workshop during the weekend, sharing their experiences and helping with playing technique queries. With all of the members of the ensemble having their playing roots in brass bands, this was a great event in which to be performing, bridging gaps between brass music styles and sharing numerous memories.
